BrickArms® M1903a4 Springfield

While mounting a scope to an accurate, battle tested, bolt-action rifle seems like a good plan, the Army's adoption of the M1903a4's configuration as a marksman's rifle in WWII is still contentious. The low power 4x scope was widely disliked by troops deployed in Africa, the Mediterranean, and Europe, who often argued they would rather just sharpshoot with an M1's iron sights. The Marine Corps did find some better luck, utilizing the a4 as a designated marksman's rifle in the close confines of some jungle engagements, where a 4x optic was more useful than their traditional long distance rifles.
