P1942 Frogskin Printed BrickArms® M1 Steel Pot Helmet
Introduced in 1943, these helmet covers are synomomous with the Marines in WWII. Reversible between a beach/tan side, and a jungle/green side, they were intended to allow camoflauge in a variety of climates. The beach side saw some limited use on Tarawa, Peleliu, and Okinawa, where relatively little vegetation of any form survived pre invasion bombardments. In most cases, Marines would land with the jungle side out, as the green would provide the most universal camoflauge regardless of specific terrain.
Patterned off the original 1942 Frogskin camoflauge pattern, my updated art features the coloration taken directly from the original camoflauge, the foilage slits present on the covers used during WWII, as well as my interpretation of the stitch construction.
Printed on a quality BrickArms® M1 Steel Pot Helmet.
