If you've followed my work over the years, you know I absolutely love gas masks. Not wearing them, definetely not the need for them to exist, but the awesome design aestetic they usually encompass. The XM28 is one of the coolest in my opinion, nicknamed the "Grasshopper" for it's odd, elongated profile with sharp lines. Practically, it was an entirely new age of design arising from complaints in Vietnam that the large M17 gas mask suspended on a soldiers leg was far too bulky in combat. Foldable into a small belt worn pouch, weighing only 14 ounces, and designed with internal cheek filters, it was massively preferred by troops in the field. Although only effective against riot agents, this worked out in the long run as it's primary function was to protect the "tunnel rats" who often used tear gas to clear cave systems.

These are really hard to find in good condition and complete with bag. Almost all were demillled by the government, by sawing them in half, before being sold on the surplus market. The only noteable condition issue is a small lens crack, unavoidable over time due to the hardening plastic being contorted into the bag. I'm sure you won't actually have to use it anyways. In fact, this is only sold as a curio, oddity, collectible, curiosity, you get the gist, and is not being sold as any form of protection.

US shipping only. Unfortunately this item falls under ITAR and it's not feasible for me to get the export licenses needed for these sorts of things (yet).
