WWII US Army Raincoat Pack - Normandy 1944

This minifigure pack is based off reference images of the 8th Infantry Division, securing La Haye du Puits in July 1944. Carrying on my recent interest in portraying unique uniforms used by US forces in Normandy, all three figures feature my new art for the M1938 Raincoat. These raincoats were issued to all US army forces in WWII, prior to being replaced by ponchos in 1945. Cut oversize, they were intended to be worn over the entire uniform and equipment, in theory keeping it all dry.

I've depicted this on the first figure, who has elected just to keep the rifle bandolier outside for easy access to ammo, as well as new art for the 1021 Polaroid Goggles slung around his neck. As this was the 8th's first combat after coming ashore, I've included a helmet with scrim that has not yet worn off from the helmet net. 

Next is my new rendition of a WWII US MP. He comes standard with a pistol belt loadout, although I've included the detail of an M1 Carbine pouch, and no sidearm. In frontline areas, MPs would generally wield longarms, namely carbines and Thompsons, should combat arise, in favor of the pistols they wore in rear echelon areas.

Finally, is my new take on an army medic. This is my first time including art for the full cantle suspender loadout, with each medical bag suspender off of their own load bearing system separate from the combat belt. On the belt he carries a spare canteen, often scavenged from spare gear by medics for use in treating injured soldiers. I've also included new art for the helmet, depicting one of the many styles of red crosses in use. Medical personnel painted their own helmets by hand, leading to incredible variation in styles, and sometimes specific styles adopted within specific units.
