Smoke WP Grenade (5 Pack)

Developed prior to US adoption of the also short lived M16 Smoke Grenade, the M15 White Phosphorus “Willie Pete” grenade was originally intended for the same purpose of concealment. Both struggled with sufficient smoke generation and were eventually replaced at the end of WWII by the ubiquitous M18 smoke grenade. The M15, using White Phosphorus, also sends bursts for 20 yards in all directions upon detonation, burning at over 2000 degrees. Given that troops could not advance through this for at least 60 seconds, by which time the smoke would begin to dissipate, the design was flawed in practical use. However, it found great success, especially in the Pacific, as an ad hoc demolitions grenade. Marines often utilized them to neutralize enemy positions in confined bunkers, caves, or to burn foliage camouflaging enemy positions.

This item contains x5 BrickArms grenades with my custom artwork printed directly onto each grenade. While my digital UV ink is generally more durable than Lego pad printing, the grenade interfaces with the minifigure hand and may wear or chip with use. I'll replace items if they are misprinted upon arrival, but not for regular wear and tear from use.
