One of the most influential firearms designs of all time, the winchester 1897 has been sold to the public and militaries across the globe in dozens of variations. Most well known being the military "trench gun" configuration, reducing the barrel length, as well as adding a heat shield, and bayonet mount for use by american troops in WWI. These work horse shotguns remained in US military inventories for decades, still seeing major use in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and into Desert Storm.
